There's more tension between rival factions in the Cayuga Nation.
A news conference called Saturday by a traditionalist faction turned into a violent demonstration as the traditionalists clashed with police hired by another faction.
Tribal President Clint Halftown had several buildings owned by the traditionalists demolished a week ago, claiming ownership of the land.
The demonstrators fought with Halftown's police -- who pepper-sprayed and used zip ties to restrain them.
Halftown says his Cayuga Nation Leadership Council has support from more than 60 percent of the nation's citizens. The traditionalists recognize only the clan mothers and traditional chiefs as their leaders.
