Identification Of Found Remains May Take Months

Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty says it will be several months before we know for certain whose remains were found Sunday near Geneseo.

Dougherty believes they are the remains of David Morgan -- the North Carolina man who pointed a gun at a Geneseo police officer before running into the woods in July 2018.

The sheriff says the University of North Texas will be working with the Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office to make a positive identification of the body.
