Legislator Calls for Investigation of SUNY Brockport Firing

A Monroe County Legislator is calling for an investigation into SUNY Brockport and the recent firing of its Chief Diversity Officer, Dr. Cephas Archie.

Monroe County Minority Leader Vincent Felder, a Brockport graduate, wrote a letter to SUNY Chancellor Kristina Johnson, saying he was troubled by the recent events. He also says the timing of Dr. Archie's termination raises serious questions.

Mayor Lovely Warren spoke to the media Thursday afternoon, and says the events following Archie's firing don't make sense. She said something isn't right with what happened there.

The university has said Dr. Archie's dismissal is a personnel matter and won't discuss the reason.
