The Rochester City School District is being sued under the Child Victims Act by a woman who says she was sexually abused by a teacher's aide back in the 1980s.
The woman is referred to as "Jane Doe" in the court filing. She accuses the aid of molesting her while she was seven-to-eight years old...and attending School 30 in 1982 and '83. The suit claims the school was aware and was actually on notice that a number of its employees were sexually assaulting or molesting children. The suit accuses School 30, the School District and the School Board of being negligent and careless in the hiring of this particular aide.
The plaintiff claims she suffers from physical and emotional pain as well as flashbacks, and continues to seek therapy for the alleged abuse.
