The Democrat running in the special election in the 27th Congressional District says he was placed on leave without pay by his employer -- a company owned by the family of his Republican opponent.
Nate McMurray tells The Batavian he wasn't given a reason, and he is getting by on vacation pay and an earned bonus.
He was an attorney for Delaware North, a company owned by the family of Chris Jacobs.
The company and the Jacobs campaign did not reply to The Batavian's request for comment.
