Assemblyman Brian Kolb Won't Seek Re-Election

State Assemblyman Brian Kolb is announcing that he will not seek re-election for the 131st Assembly District this November.

In a statement Kolb says he made the decision after a great deal of consideration and discussions with his family.

His statement said in part "I know that there are other avenues for me to pursue, future work to be done, and I have every intention of being an active member of the community and state that I love."

He was arrested on New Year's Eve after he allegedly drove drunk from Pittsford to Victor before crashing his state vehicle into a ditch.

Charging documents indicate his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.

Following his arrest, Kolb resigned as Assembly minority leader, but kept his assembly seat.
