The agency that regulates the water level on Lake Ontario wants the lawsuit brought against it by the state of New York moved from state court to federal court.
The D&C reports the motion was filed this week in Rochester by the International Joint Commission. It argues the international issues involved in the case are best heard in federal court.
The state's lawsuit claims the commission is responsible for the flooding along Lake Ontario in 2017 and last year. But the commission says heavy rain and snow are to blame.
