Medicaid Redesign Team To Work On Closing $6 Million Gap

The New York State Medicaid Redesign Team will be meeting this afternoon (at 1 pm) in Albany.

Governor Cuomo has given members the task of helping close the state's six-billion-dollar budget gap, much of which has been attributed to Medicaid overspending.

The first Medicaid Redesign Team was established in 2011 and is credited with helping keep the program's spending growth to less than half the national average.

This new team will report its findings to the governor and Legislature next month.
