Charges have been filed against the man accused of stabbing a Rochester Police Officer.

Police say Jamal Dima stabbed officer Brian Cala in the face with a knife as he and another officer were responding to the report of a possibly disturbed man on Glendale Park.

Rochester police chief La'Ron Singletary says Officer Cala did exactly what he is trained to do.

Officer Cala fired five rounds, one of which struck Dima in the wrist.

Dima is charged with Attempted Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer

Chief Singletary says there is body camera footage of the incident.
