Rochester school Superintendent Terry Dade is looking at consolidating some schools to save money.
Under his plan, the Franklin and Monroe campuses would become grades 7 through 12 schools. Schools 44 and 57 would become pre-kindergarten buildings.
He says the changes would save $4 million in expenses and generate $4 million in new enrollment revenue.
Dade says he wants to avoid turning school buildings over to charter schools or other uses.
The school board will have to approve the plans.
