The man charged in Ontario county's first homicide of the year has entered a formal not guilty plea.
William Fricke, of Perinton, was in court this morning.
He is charged with first degree murder in the fatal stabbing in Canandaigua of a former longtime girlfriend -- Julianne Baker. He's also charged with assault and attempted murder of her friend.
Baker was killed January 2 at the friend's home on West Lake Road. Her loved ones were in the courtroom today, wearing white in her memory.
The friend, a Rochester attorney, was seriously injured in the attack.
Fricke is being held without bail.
