The latest numbers from the state show an improvement in the high school graduation rate in the Rochester city schools.
The August graduation rate last year for students who started 9th grade in 2015 was 63 percent -- an increase of 3.7 percentage points from the rate the year before.
The 2019 report also showed the best year-over-year improvement in the state's five biggest school districts, although Rochester remains in fifth place.
The statewide August graduation rate last year was up slightly -- to 83.4 percent.
