The Milne Library on the SUNY Geneseo campus has been shut down because of asbestos.
Inspections by the Department of Environment Health and Safety confirmed the presence of asbestos particles.
According to a statement on the university website, the air is safe and the asbestos does not necessarily constitute a health threat. But a remediation project will start right away, and the library is expected to be closed for the rest of the semester.
