A Monroe County grand jury has indicted a Town of Sweden woman on a charge she assaulted her foster child.
Jamie Nicosia called 9-1-1 in November to report the 3-year-old girl was not breathing and was unresponsive.
Hospital staff discovered the child had bruises on her buttocks and her shoulder, retinal bleeding and a subdural hematoma.
Nicosia allegedly admitted to police she hit the child's head against the floor "three or four times."
She was arrested last month.
