One-Percent Cut in Medicaid Proposed To Close State Budget Gap

The State Department of Health is trying to do its part to help New York State close multi-billion dollar budget gap.

Officials have proposed a one percent cut of state Medicaid payments starting yesterday.

The move is projected to save over 120 million dollars in the final quarter of this fiscal year and nearly 500 million bucks in each subsequent one.

Roughly six million New Yorkers are served by the state's Medicaid program.
