New Law Eliminates Use of Chemical with Potential to Cause Cancer

Governor Cuomo has signed a new law to eliminate the use of a potentially cancer-causing chemical.

PFAS is commonly used in firefighting foam and is known to contaminate drinking water sources.

In addition to cancer, it has been linked to other serious health problems.

Its use will also now be phased out at oil refineries, fuel storage and distribution facilities and chemical plants.
