State Funds Rochester Area Projects

Governor Cuomo's office says more than $761 million in economic and community development funding has been awarded around the state...including more than $64 million for the Finger Lakes Region and Rochester.

Two million dollars of that money from Empire State Development will to to UR Medicine Home Care...to move its corporate headquarters into the City of Rochester and centralize its operations. Home health care is a rapidly growing business and the relocations will help UR Medicine meet the demand.

Another nearly $2 million is coming to the Village of Webster, to rehab and modernize the roads in the Xerox industrial campus. It will enhance use of the site for Xerox and other potential tenants. And finally, the City of Rochester will get nearly $400,000 to upgrade Durand Eastman Beach by adding a beach house to the swimming area. It will have restrooms, changing rooms, a lifeguard office and a first aid station.
