Schumer, Gillibrand: IJC Needs to Analyze Plan 2014 Now

Senators Schumer and Gillibrand are calling on the International Joint Commission to immediately begin an analysis of its Plan 2014 water management plan.

A bipartisan spending bill in Congress includes $1.5 million to fund a study of the Plan's effectiveness.

Lake Ontario’s water level is currently more than 17 inches higher than average for December -- and that has some people worried about more flooding this spring for lakeshore communities.

Schumer says it’s clear that Plan 2014 needs a major overhaul.

The Federal Fiscal Year 2020 spending package is expected to pass Congress this week.
