Next Scheduled Increase in Minimum Wage in NYS Goes into Effect Dec. 31

Governor Cuomo says the state's economy can absorb the next scheduled increase in the minimum wage.

For our area, and all areas north of Westchester County, the hourly minimum will go up 70 cents on December 31 to $11.80.

Westchester and Long Island will see a $1 dollar increase to $13. And New York City workers not already earning $15, will reach that level.

The governor says a report from the state budget office confirms that the increases won't hurt the state's economy.
