Finger Lakes Community College Getting Gift from Sands Family Foundation

Finger Lakes Community College is getting a $3 million gift from the Sands Family Foundation to more than double the size of its nursing program.

The money will cover nearly half the cost of an expanded wing at the main campus in Canandaigua that will be called the Sands Center for Allied Health.

Construction will begin in about 18 months.

FLCC already accepts up to 80 new RN candidates each year and will launch a licensed practical nursing certificate program.

Thompson Health will provide instructors for both programs.
