Brighton police reportedly are looking into whether a driver fell asleep before her car went off Edgewood Avenue and struck and killed a nine-year-old girl and her nanny.
According to News10NBC, the driver's husband says she fell asleep at the wheel, and police confirmed they are looking at that possibility.
Police also are analyzing data from the driver's cell phone, the black box in the car and toxicology tests.
So far, the driver has not been charged. The crash also critically injured the dead girl's 2-year-old brother.
