Man Indicted for 1982 Axe Murder of His Wife

James Krauseneck has been indicted for the 1982 axe murder of his wife Cathleen at their home in Brighton. The killing happened on Del Rio Road and went unsolved until now.

The woman was killed while their 3-year-old daughter, Sara, was home. Krauseneck had told police he came home from work at Kodak and found the body.

Krauseneck is now 67, and his attorneys insist on his innocence.

Police said in 2016 they had begun testing DNA on the axe handle. At that time, Krauseneck was living in Washington state.
