Webster Residents Object To Lettuce Farm Proposal

Some Webster residents are objecting to plans for an industrial greenhouse complex.

An Ohio business, CEA Fresh Farms, says it would grow lettuce year-round and create about 375 jobs.

It would be built on 146 acres, along State Road, between Salt and County Line roads. But at a meeting last night, people living nearby said it would ruin the neighborhood and belongs somewhere else.

More meetings are planned tonight at 7, and Saturday morning at 19, at Webster Thomas High School.

The Planning Board will consider the plan on November 19.
