Senator Wants Legislation For Year-Round Daylight Saving Time

A state lawmaker says he will press next year for legislation ending the changing of the clocks to, and from, Daylight Saving Time.

Senator James Skoufis from Orange County, wants year-round Daylight Saving Time.

He says it would save energy and reduce crime and vehicle and pedestrian fatalities. He says changing the clocks is "nothing short of annoying and stupid."

The nation tried year-round Daylight Saving Time in the 1970s, but many parents complained when their children were going to school in the dark in winter.
