Public Meeting Tonight on Cleanup of Genesee River

A public meeting is set for this evening on a $15 million plan to cleanup toxic metals left by Kodak in sediment in the Genesee River.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation is most concerned about silver left behind from the production of film at Kodak Park. The silver is harmful to small fish and plants.

Funding to dredge the riverbed would come from a trust fund created during Kodak's bankruptcy proceedings.

Tonight's meeting starts at 6 at the auditorium at the Rundel Memorial Library downtown.
