Gov. Cuomo Announces State Funding for Areas Hit by Lake Ontario Flooding

Governor Cuomo is announcing a combined 133 million dollars in state funding to advance dozens of projects in Monroe, Wayne, Orleans and Niagara counties as part of the first round of funding under the Lake Ontario Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative.

The REDI initiative was created in response to the recent floods.

Governor Cuomo says the recent challenge of historic high water levels along Lake Ontario calls for a swift and innovative response.

Monroe County is getting 43 million for several projects including 1.5 million dollars to elevate Lake Road in the Town of Webster and 9.1 million dollars to make improvements to the storm-water and sewer infrastructure in Greece.
