Appeal Arguments for Laura Rideout Being Heard Today

The attorney for Laura Rideout says she should not have been on trial at the same time as her sons.

Her appeal arguments are being heard today.

She was sentenced to life in prison for the 2016 murder of her estranged husband, Craig, in Penfield. She claims she didn't plan or commit the murder and suggests her sons, Colin and Alex, did the killing. Colin is serving a murder sentence, but Alex was convicted only of evidence tampering.

Laura Rideout's boyfriend was acquitted.

Craig Rideout was strangled and beaten in his home. His body was found wrapped in a tarp in some woods in Yates County.
