Orleans Co. Man Sentenced in Carbon Monoxide Death Investigation

An Orleans County man has been sentenced to two months in jail and three years' probation for causing two deaths at a home where he was the caretaker.

David Wiley left a generator running in a garage at the house in Kendall last year.

The carbon monoxide killed Joan Gilman and her 14-year-old son, Richard, in the bedroom above the garage.

Wiley pleaded guilty in April to reckless endangerment. The charge is a misdemeanor. He was initially charged with negligent homicide, which is a felony.
