Le Roy Police have identified a student who made a threat against the LeRoy Central School District Friday, leading district officials to cancel classes for the day. Police continue investigating the threat that was made on Snapchat late Thursday night.
School officials say they were notified of the threat through their anonymous tip line and contacted authorities. Police Chief Christopher Hayward says the school made the decision to close Friday morning to allow police to determine if the threat was credible or not.
Police say it took about three hours to track down the student who made the threat, and that person is cooperating with authorities.
No charges have been filed at this time. Police say there is no longer a cause for concern.
