Work starts today to put down the new turf at Frontier Field.
The new natural turf will cost $2.2 million and will be installed in three phases over the next three months.
It will monitored during the winter and final maintenance will be completed in March, to get the field ready for Opening Day.
The new field replaces turf that had been used for the last 12 seasons.
