Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren is saying more about her request to the state to allow the city to sever its finances from the Rochester School District.
The mayor says the School District knew it was having financial problems, yet it let the city go ahead and borrow $50 million on its behalf.
The mayor says this will hurt the city's bond rating and could force city taxpayers to pay more for road and other projects. The City School District is not commenting until the completion of its own investigation into why it overspent its budget.
