RCSD Overspends Budget

The Rochester City School District says it learned late Wednesday evening that it may have overspent its budget last year. The district says in a statement that concerns were raised by preliminary audit findings.

The overspending may have been on health insurance. The district says costs went up during the year because the district is self-insured. Special education costs may also have gone over budget.

The school board and District Superintendent Terry Dade are working to investigate what happened and make sure the district is financially stable.
