Union workers at GM's Rochester Operations plant have joined a nationwide strike with their brothers and sisters at GM plants around the country.
United Auto Workers Local 1097 President Dan Maloney says in a statement the union is demanding "fair pay and benefits" and stands united against "corporate greed". The plant on Lexington Avenue employs several hundred union workers.
GM says it has already presented "a strong offer that improves wages, benefits and grows U.S. jobs".
Contract talks are resuming today.
