Authorities say a deputy at the Monroe County Jail needed medical treatment after a reaction to something that was sent in the mail to an inmate.
The deputy was exposed to an unknown substance yesterday while opening an envelope. The deputy was treated at Strong, then released.
The substance is being tested. Jail command staff are conducting an internal investigation.
