Pennsylvania Man Charged With Attempted Rape in Canandaigua

Canandaigua police have arrested a 61-year-old Pennsylvania man who came to the Finger Lakes city believing he was going to meet up with a 14-year-old girl.

They charged 61-year-old Paul Hedmeck of Leighton, Pennsylvania with attempted second degree rape. Police said he had online conversations of a sexual nature with what he believed was a 14-year-old Canandaigua girl. He was actually talking with police investigators who arrested him when he showed up expecting to meet the girl.
