The Cuomo administration appears open to the possibility of reversing the plan to charge people with older license plates $25 to get new ones.
State DMV Commissioner Mark Schroeder says he's willing to work with lawmakers who are pushing back on the plan, which is set to start next spring.
Under the current plan, people with plates that are at least ten-years-old will be required to get new plates and pay the fee. The state believes newer plates will be more easily read by the cashless toll booths that are coming to the Thruway.
