Plea Deal Accepted In Kidnapping Case

A man who was granted a new trial for kidnapping a teenage girl in Manchester has taken a plea deal, instead.

Ontario County prosecutors say Carlos Vail-Mateo pleaded guilty to second degree kidnapping.

Vail-Mateo was arrested in 2016 for taking the 14-year-old. His conviction was overturned on a technicality last month.

He'll be sentenced in October to five and a half years in prison. And he eventually will face deportation.
