Kali Watkins Trial - Day 3

The mother of a then-14-year-old girl took the stand this afternoon in the trial of former high school coach Kali Watkins. She testified that her daughter was a good student and taking honors courses...but after her alleged rape by Watkins, she became withdrawn, began having panic attacks and woke up screaming in the night. Her anxiety attacks--according to her mother--turned into migraines.

The defense then began its cross-examination, trying to get the witness to confirm specific dates including when they met with police investigators.

The girl's father took the stand, testifying that his daughter became distant. Finally the district's security director took the stand. He testified that there was video surveillance of the hallways outside the locker room, but the district only keeps the video files 30 days. By the time police asked, the video was long gone.
