Several people were injured, two of them seriously, when an SUV rolled over Saturday afternoon on the New York State Thruway near the Geneva Exit.
State Police say Marilyn Deleon-Mutal, 19, of Lynn, Massachusetts was driving and tried to pass a tractor-trailer. Somehow she lost control, overcorrected, went into the median and rolled over several times. Her back seat passengers were ejected from the SUV and seriously injured. Both were airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital, and one is in critical condition. The driver suffered less serious injuries and was treated at Geneva General Hospital.Three other passengers were taken to Strong with less serious injuries, and a one-year-old baby in the car was uninjured.
The westbound lanes of the Thruway were closed for about three hours while troopers investigated.
