Fire struck a house at 314 Reynolds Street Thursday afternoon.
The fire department says a police officer was flagged down by someone who spotted smoke coming from the house. The occupants weren't home, but arrived shortly after fire crews started attacking the fire. Damage was confined to a single room on the first floor, plus smoke damage to the rest of the house. Nobody was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
