The Rochester City Council is being asked to approve plans this month for the redevelopment of the Colgate Rochester Divinity School property on South Goodman Street near Highland Park.
The referral from Mayor Lovely Warren’s office to the council provides for rezoning the land for the “Vistas at Highland” planned development. The plan retains and reuses the historic buildings on the site and preserves the park-like landscaping.
Two new four-story apartment buildings will be built, each holding 52 units. One will have an underground parking garage. Andrews Hall and Saunders Hall will become apartment buildings, and the other three existing buildings will house a mix of residential and commercial tenants.
The site has been designated a local landmark, meaning restrictions on what can be changed on the property.
