Pepper Balls Fired to Break Up House Parties in Rochester

Rochester police fired pepper balls to break up groups of more than 200 people that gathered in the streets around Park Avenue where the Park Avenue Festival is underway. Police say they got complaints of loud house parties and people blocking the streets. Investigating officers had cans and bottles thrown at them. 25-to-30 officers were called into the area, and after bottles and debris continued to be thrown, the police fired pepper balls and physically pushed the group out of the area. They say numerous house parties had to be calmed down. There's no report of arrests.
