Ruling Scheduled For RCSD Referendum

A judge is scheduled to rule this morning on the request by the Rochester City School District to block the planned election referendum on a state takeover of the schools.

The school district wants an injunction to keep the question off the November election ballot. City Corporation Counsel Tim Curtin says he believes they won't get it.

The district argues non-binding referendums are not legal in New York....and argues Mayor Warren is improperly using her position to push for the referendum....

The City says voters should have a say on a possible state takeover .
