RCSD and City of Rochester go to Court over Planned Election Referendum

A judge says he'll rule tomorrow on a request by the Rochester City School District to block the planned election referendum on a state takeover of the schools.

The school district wants an injunction to keep the question off the November election ballot.

The district argues non-binding referendums are not legal in New York.

The City wants voters to have a say on a possible state takeover of the schools and the City's lawyers denied Mayor Warren has advocated for one position in her public comments.
