The New York state attorney general's office is looking into the Capital One data breach.
Attorney General Letitia James says her office will try to ensure New York victims are brought relief. James questions whether companies are doing enough to protect against data breaches, calling them far too common at financial institutions.
A security breach at Capital One this month exposed 140-thousand Social Security numbers and 80-thousand bank account numbers. Authorities in Seattle arrested a woman in connection with the breach.
