A Rochester woman is hospitalized after a man hit her with a car then attacked her. According to police, the woman was hit by a vehicle on Thurston Road around 6:30 p.m. Police say the driver of the car drove over the 35-year-old woman with his car. Then, investigators say, he got out of the car and attacked her as she was laying in the street. Bystanders were able to restrain the suspect as police arrived. The woman is in stable condition at Strong Hospital. The driver of the vehicle, Bobby Welcher, 54, is being charged with assault and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
