A student athlete attending Greece Athena High School has been charged with first and third degree rape, as well as first degree sexual abuse.
Seventeen-year-old Melvin Council was indicted by a Monroe County Grand Jury. Papers filed in court say Council allegedly had sexual contact with a victim without consent on June 11th. He was arrested by Greece Police later that day and taken for questioning.
Council is a member of the Athena basketball team.
Greece Police and Greece Central Schools have not commented.
