Authorities in Ontario County say the dog reported stolen Sunday from a car at Roseland Plaza in Canandaigua has been found.
The dog was at an address in Newark.
Investigators say Kelly Price took the one-year-old Shih Tzu named Truffles because she thought the dog had been left unattended in a hot car.
But she never contacted authorities. Price is charged with petit larceny.
Truffles is back with her owner.
