Man Charged in Stabbing Death Ruled not Competent to Stand Trial

A man charged with the stabbing death of his girlfriend in Rochester in April has been ruled not competent to stand trial.

Ronald Pilgrim was indicted last month on a second-degree murder charge for the death of Cherylann Jackson at a North Clinton Avenue apartment.

Police said Jackson was stabbed several times in the chest and back.

At his initial court appearance in April, Pilgrim's lawyer entered a not guilty plea, but Pilgrim said to the victim's family "I did it.”

He is not expected to return to court until next year.
