The City of Rochester's so-called "Dynamic Staffing" plan is now in effect at the city fire stations. The purpose is to reduce overtime costs by closing some stations for some shifts.
The station on Monroe Avenue at Alexander Street closed overnight, starting at 6 p.m. last night.
Area residents and the firefighters union are concerned the plan will mean longer response times to emergencies.
The City says the plan will save more than $1 million with no significant affect on response times.
